From Volunteer to Valued Team Member: Lewis’ Inspiring Journey

At Number 1 Coffee Shop Community Hub CIC, we believe in giving everyone an opportunity to shine. Our community is built on kindness, inclusion, and the belief that everyone has something special to offer.

When Lewis first joined us as a volunteer, he was eager to help, full of enthusiasm, and brought a bright energy to our space. Lewis, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), didn’t come in expecting anything more than a chance to contribute—but in just two short weeks, he proved to us that he was more than just a volunteer. He was a perfect fit for our team.

Recognizing his dedication, hard work, and the joy he brings to everyone around him, we knew Lewis deserved more than just a volunteer role. So, we made it official. After going through a full interview experience—where he absolutely excelled—we are thrilled to announce that Lewis will be joining us as a paid team member starting the week of March 24th!

Lewis’ journey is a testament to the power of opportunity and the impact of an inclusive, supportive community. He is a shining example of how, when given the right environment to grow, people can exceed even their own expectations.

We are so proud of Lewis and can’t wait to see him thrive in his new role. His story is a reminder that talent, kindness, and dedication deserve to be recognized.
